History of "The Cup"
To paper football enthusiasts, it is known simply as "The Cup." Such is the love with which the community holds the Caldwell Cup. The brainchild of Michael McCarthy and G. Alexander Sipe, the Caldwell Cup is set to become the preeminent showdown in major league paper sports. Behind the sponsorship of True Value, a Christmas Classic Bowl game is scheduled for late December 2002. There, the top two teams in the league will vie for the right to call "The Cup"..."Our Cup."
